Admission is $5, and refreshments will be available. The money will help the Divas get their non-profit status prepared and filed.

When: This Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 PM to 1 AM @ GSCA

Please remember to bring your comfortable shoes, because you will be dancing like a rock star! Karaoke can be expected, and one of the co-founders, Sandra McKinley, will be celebrating her birthday.

Colors for the night are black and silver, feel free to dress accordingly.

CircusYoga is an imaginative, fun-filled and safe workout designed to strengthen bodies while building creativity, self-confidence, focus, trust, teamwork. The classes in this series will include basic Hatha yoga poses taught through a unique story-like structure,contact/partner yoga, creative movement, juggling 101, skill toys, clowning and partner acrobatics. Our final CircusYoga class in this session will be an open presentation for families and others who wish to join in the fun and celebrate with us.

Come celebrate the end of a delicious summer with a huge neighborhood BBQ. The YO team has done an amazing job growing sustainable food, and they can’t wait to let you try some if you haven’t already.

The celebration will take place this Friday, August 12 at 5 p.m., located at the YO Garden on the corner of South Hawk and 3rd Avenue. The food is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

In a beautiful turn of events Grand Street Community Arts is HONORED to present Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars : Concert for Water with openers Marafanyi: Drum, Dance and Song and Taina Asili. This event was previously scheduled for the Egg and has been rescheduled to be presented at Grand Street Community Arts.

This concert will bring people together in one voice to create awareness around our water and build the movement to ban hydrofracking in the City of Albany and New York State. The time is now! We must protect our waters from contamination caused by the noxious chemicals used in natural gas extraction.

Let’s get everyone united with ONE voice and feel the vibration of the ROOTS of creation. Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars brings the heart of West Africa to everyone dancing for the liberation of a brighter day. Rise and Shine is a the new album that expresses just that.
