New Building Volunteer List

It’s been a great week at GSCA. We’ve had a lot of work parties and have many more coming up this month. If you are interested in joining us for work parties, we have just made a separate email list from our wider Volunteer List, just for building volunteers who want to help in building renovation and repair projects.

Fundraising Campaign Week 4

Raised $2,400 towards the $27,000 target.

It’s week four of our fundraising campaign! We had a lovely time on our Thank You Cruise, but we still have a long way to go to meet the goal of this Summer’s campaign! Your support at this time is crucial, and we are asking you to give more than you have ever given before. This is not a gamble–it’s an investment in the future of Albany! Keep our architecture project moving along quickly so we can begin reconstruction in 2018!

If you have a check waiting to mail to us, send it in! Or, donate online.

Let’s move this thermometer! The time is now!

Thank you!

Tivoli Lake Sound Walk, This Saturday

Tivoli Lake
The second of our Grand Walks takes place this Saturday, a Sound Walk at the Tivoli Lake Preserve.

This 45 minute Sound Walk through Tivoli Lake Preserve will be led by artist/composer Stephanie Loveless. Meet at the Gazebo behind Livingston School Apartments from 2:45-3:10 for a 3:15 departure.

Please register below so we have a sense of how many attendees will be coming. We may add a second group if the interest is high.

Soundwalking , as defined by Hildegard Westerkamp, is “any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment.” Stephanie Loveless is an artist and composer who lives on Grand Street. She will lead the sound walk in this urban nature preserve that she has fallen in love with.

The Tivoli Lake Preserve Sound Walk is part of Grand Walks, a series of five walks taking place between July 4 and August 18th.

Thanks to the City of Albany, Mayor’s Office of Energy & Sustainability and to the Livingston School Apartments.

This is a free event, but each walk has a maximum number of participants. Please register here so we know how many people to expect. Be sure to include your name and email.
