Grand Street Community Arts is currently seeking interns & volunteers for the following weekly office hours:
Mondays, 9:30am – 12:30pm
Tuesdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm
Tuesdays, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Thursdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm
Thursdays, 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Volunteers will work at our Winter Office at Lincoln Square Apartments, Morton Avenue and Grand Street.
Projects and tasks could include any of the following:
- Answering the phone
- Responding to email inquiries
- Updating GSCA’s website
- Interacting with Facebook and Twitter
- Proofreading event announcements and marketing materials
- Graphic Design
- Event Planning
- Community Outreach
- Office Administration (Scanning, data-entry, checking supplies)
There’s also just an awful lot of sorting through old paper, finding dates of programs to go into our history and names of past programmers who we may reconnect with.
We urgently need assistance, and we will work with you at whatever level you are at. If you need training in how to use Office, or training in how to use InDesign, we are happy to provide that. If you are looking for practice typing, or practice using Final Cut Pro, that’s great. What we ask for is that you make a firm commitment to a weekly shift of office hours (3 hours), and that you can fulfill that commitment for at least 6 weeks.
