Announcing our new staff members!

Grand Street Community Arts is pleased to announce our new staff members

Amanda Wilson, Director of Youth Organicsamanda wilson
Amanda Wilson is a radical educator. She believes that many of the most vital lessons happen outside of the classroom in non-traditional spaces from the aisles of a supermarket, community rooms at a senior center, and most relevant to YO!, down in the dirt and outdoors. Amanda believes that all people have the capacity to embrace their curiosity and enjoy learning while becoming reflective people with a desire to create meaningful change in their own lives and that of their neighborhood.

Amanda brings years of experience in education and mentoring of young people from the Capital Region in addition to nonprofit experience, community service & project-based learning techniques and outdoor education training. As a naturalist and writer she will work to incorporate science education, artistic expression and social awareness to the YO! program and sees Youth Organics as a key component in a movement to support self determining critical thinkers who are healthy, happy and action-oriented in  Albany’s South End.
