Announcing our Winter Fundraising Campaign Goals!

Our Winter Fundraising Campaign Kicks Off on December 1st.
Here's a Breakdown of our Goals!

The Grand Street Community Arts December Fundraising runs starts on December 1st and will extend through December 31st.

We are beginning the campaign with a tour of the building at 1pm on December 1st, and conclude with ringing of the church bell at midnight on December 31st.

The goal for the Winter Campaign is to raise $27,000.

These are minimum necessary funds for the 1st Quarter of 2016 to keep GSCA in operation while our building remains closed. Please support GSCA this month to ensure a successful design project, to support the YouthFX transition, to bring diversity to the airwaves of Albany, to revitalize lower Madison Avenue and to save this Albany landmark!

Our goal of $27,000 comprises 5 sub-goals:

7500    TAP and Engineering, 1st Payment
3000    Building Operations Through Winter
10000  Personnel
4500    Public Workshops for Design
2000    WCAA Radio

7500    TAP and Engineering, 1st Payment

We aim to begin our Basement Re-Design Project immediately, in January. We have 12 months to raise our $26,000 in matching funds required by the project, but must make a payment of $5000 to TAP and $2500 to the structural engineers to proceed.

3000    Building Operations Through Winter

This item describes four months of necessary building operating expenses. It’s a little bit higher than last year’s Building Operating expense because shutting we need to keep the building running, with heat, heat-tape, water, through the winter this year.

10000  Personnel

Help us create jobs and be more effective! The personnel fund may go towards an administrative assistant, a custodian, building contractors, or freelancers who we may contract for communications, web design or event management.

4500    Public Workshops for Design

Our Basement Redesign Workshop includes three public workshops, to take place in January, February and March.

Each workshop will cost $1500 to present, including supplies, catering and event management. This line item is not covered by our NYSCA grant and must be covered by our matching funds.

2000    WCAA Radio

WCAA FM has moved slowly this past year, with the building closed. These funds will kick-start outreach efforts, programmer training and music licensing to get WCAA broadcasting on the web this winter and on the airwaves in 2016. WCAA will be our first program to move into St. Anthony’s Church.
