Restoring Treasures

Grand Street Community Arts seeks to respect and honor the history of our community arts center by honoring the space it once was. Here you’ll be able to view some of the restoration projects GSCA has helped foster since opening its door in 2003.

Check out our newest projects below!

THE HERALDING ANGEL
This Nativity Angel was found in the basement of the old St. Anthony’s Church, in very poor condition due to 30 years of damp and cold. It has been beautifully restored by sculptor Terry Rooney.

ST. ROCCO
Many of the stained glass windows at St. Anthony’s were in bad shape when GSCA took ownership. Fortunately, among our neighborhood friends are a couple who restore stained glass windows professionally. St. Rocco was their biggest challenge so far, but they are working on others.
